The Aulneau Renewal Centre is a registered bilingual not-for-profit organization located at 228 Hamel Ave in St. Boniface, Winnipeg, Manitoba. It was founded in 1979 as a mission of the Missionary Oblate Sisters of St. Boniface. In 1998, the organization was separately incorporated as a non-for-profit charitable organization and in 2012, it became a Sponsored Community of Service under the Catholic Health Corporation of Manitoba.
The Aulneau Renewal Centre works with individuals, couples, and families to develop therapeutic plans that meet their specific needs through therapy, education, support, and guidance.
We help our clients work through their challenges to discover a positive vision, so they can optimize their personal potential and growth towards renewal. It is our commitment to provide a variety of services that have unique specialties and are tailored to meet every client's needs, regardless of their personal and/or financial situation.
Services Offered
Counselling Programs Counselling and therapy services are offered at the Aulneau Renewal Centre.
The programs include both long and short-term individual counselling sessions for children and parents, dyad work for parents and young children, family or group counselling sessions and parenting workshops.
The objectives of the programs are to promote personal growth and self-reliance for adults, children and families enabling them to be more functional and autonomous, develop life and social skills, and improve their parenting capacities.
Objectives also include assisting families and individuals in accessing resources from other parts of the social services network, and collaborating with other community-based organizations to help meet their needs.
Each clinician works from their own integrative therapeutic orientation, which for most is an blend of different therapeutic approaches and evidence-based interventions and tools, including: * Play therapy * Music therapy * Art therapy * Garden therapy * Cooking therapy * Drama therapy * Movement therapy * CBT * DBT * EMDR
Fees and Payment
If you are a client involved with CFS and CFS is requesting therapy, a contract will be created between Aulneau Renewal Centre and CFS. You will not need to make any payment as the CFS agency will be invoiced.
If you have insurance, you will need to see who your insurance will cover. If we are able to meet the requirements of your insurance company, we will book your appointments with that provider. For example, some insurance companies only allow for billing for a social worker.
If you wish to obtain therapy services under our Sliding Scale program, payment will be based on your notice of assessment or any other financial information and the number of members in your household. This will be calculated once you complete the intake form.
For group sessions, the rates will vary depending on the length of the session, activities and focus.
Payment is accepted at the beginning of each session via cash, cheque, debit, MasterCard or Visa.
There is a $25.00 administrative fee for NSF (not sufficient funds) cheques.

Services Offered To: Adults Couples Teens Children
A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
