MOSAIC is a registered charity serving immigrant, newcomer and refugee communities in Greater Vancouver for the past 40 years.
Supported by a board of directors, the organization manages a $20 million plus budget annually with more than 300 staff, 450 volunteers and 300 contractors. Stopping the Violence Counselling We offer free, confidential counselling support and multicultural outreach services for women who have experienced, or are at risk of, abuse, threats, or violence in an intimate relationship, sexual assault or childhood abuse.

Multicultural Victim Services This program serves the specific needs of multicultural and immigrant peoples. Our Multicultural Victim Services Program is a free and confidential program to support victims of all crimes in Vancouver and Burnaby in their recovery. You do not need to report a crime to the police to receive help.
Men in Change The Men in Change program focuses on preventing the occurrence or recurrence of domestic violence through supporting men to take responsibility for their actions and work toward changing their behaviour.
This program is available to men who want to take a step toward healthier relationships and helps participants to: * Learn constructive ways to deal with conflict * Identify personal triggers * Develop stress management skills and strategies * Move past aggression, to identify and express a fuller range of emotions * Learn about the things that contribute to domestic violence
Relationship Violence Prevention Program-Cultural Edition There can be many causes and multiple triggers which can lead to relationship violence. This program is intended for men who have used violence in their relationships, and provides the participants with the knowledge and skills to eliminate or significantly reduce violence in the future.

I Belong - LGBTQ Community Resources I Belong supports LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer/Questioning) immigrant newcomers by facilitating discussions around sexuality, gender, race, culture, and class.
Often faced with being a 'minority within a minority', the I Belong program aims to support the unique needs of LGBTQ immigrants. LGBTQ immigrants face barriers ranging from racism, homophobia, transphobia and isolation, to logistical issues such as finding resources and support services, safe housing and employment.
Vietnamese Family Support Program We offer family support services that are tailored to the needs of the Vancouver Vietnamese community. Our Vietnamese Family Support Program is offered to individuals or families.
Many families come to us wanting to learn new ways to deal with: * Relationship issues (parent / teen conflict, parenting concerns) * Life transitions (separation and divorce) * Psychological and emotional concerns (stress, grief, isolation) * Concerns about integrating into Canadian society

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
