Outpatient Mental Health Services * Clinical Intensive Case Management Program - The Huron Perth Clinical Intensive Case Management Program provides time-limited, goal specific in home community treatment.
The program focuses on relapse prevention and stabilization in the community utilizing: > psychoeducation > medication management > liaison with partner agencies > advocacy
* Eating Disorders Outreach - The Eating Disorders Program provides assessment and treatment for individuals experiencing > anorexia nervosa > bulimia nervosa > disordered eating behaviours
Services provided: > Individual therapy and nutrition counselling by a Registered Dietitian > Physician and Psychiatry support > Support and education within Perth County school districts
* Huron Perth Helpline & Crisis Response Team - The Huron Perth Helpline & Crisis Response Team is available to all residents of Huron and Perth Counties.
It is a 24 hour crisis phone service, with crisis assessments, brief crisis therapy and crisis education.
* Psychiatric Day & Evening Program - ndividual counselling and groups are offered through the Psychiatric Day & Evening Program: Groups include: > Clozapine Group > Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) > Family Group: provides education and support to family members of individuals who are participating in the DBT skills group. > Mind Over Mood > Panic & Anxiety: helps individuals develop tools to manage panic and anxiety. > Pathways to Recovery - Psychosocial Rehabilitation Group for Seniors > Solid Ground: a psychoeducational art therapy group to help women who have experienced a sexual assault/abuse.
* Psychiatry - Physician referral is required for consultation in psychiatry. Referrals for non-urgent access to mental health services should be made by using the form below. Referred individuals will initially meet with an intake worker to determine their needs and will be referred to the appropriate mental health resources and/or psychiatric consultation, if needed.
* Early Intervention Program for Psychoses - The Huron Perth Prevention & Early Intervention Program for Psychoses provides assessment and treatment planning for individuals 16-50 years of age who are experiencing their first episode of psychosis.
Services Provided > Psychiatric consultation and treatment > Case management > Individual and group sessions > Family support and education > Medication monitoring. > Community presentations and school-based presentations are also available to promote public awareness of early intervention for the treatment of psychosis.
* Seniors Mental Health - The Huron Perth Seniors Mental Health Program provides assessment and treatment for older adults experiencing responsive behaviours associated with complex and challenging mental health, addictions, dementia or other neurological conditions in the home, community or long-term care.
Services provided: > Goal specific community treatment > Assistance with medication issues > Assessment, consultation > Short term counselling and relapse prevention > Advocacy and liaison > Cooperation with community agencies > Psychosocial Rehabilitation groups > Access to psychiatry > Education * Sexual Abuse Treatment - The Sexual Abuse Treatment Program provides treatment to individuals who have experienced recent sexual assault or childhood sexual abuse. The program also promotes community awareness and provides education regarding the impact of sexual abuse issues.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
