Encompass Support Services Society (ESS) is a grassroots, non-profit agency that provides a wide range of enriching and essential programs and support services in Langley and Aldergrove. Everyday, we endeavor to help build strong, sustainable communities by offering inclusive, accessible services and activities tailored to meet the changing needs of the individuals we serve. programs are grassroots and community based with the goal to provide the community with accessible support services and socially positive activities that link and engage participants in their community. Activities and supports are designed to build new skills, foster healthy productive lifestyles and improve access to services within our community. Services are low barrier, all inclusive and are free to participants. Specific programs have been adjusted to accommodate community need and are focused on enhancing access for all participants.

Services Offered
Clinical Counselling Services * Sexual Abuse Support Services - SASS is a confidential counselling program funded by the Ministry of Children and Family Development. The SASS program provides professional counselling, education and support for children and youth, up to the age of 19, who have experienced sexual abuse and sexual assault.
* Trauma Therapy Program - The Trauma Therapy Program provides therapy to children, youth, adults and their families who have experienced trauma.
Our Trauma Therapists use a variety of modalities (e.g., art, play and cognitive behavioural) found to be essential when working with children and youth who are healing from trauma.
Fees and Payment
Counselling services are free and confidential.
Trauma Therapy Program is a "fee-for-service" program. Funding is often available through sources such as the BC Crime Victim Assistance Program (we bill directly) and through extended health benefits.

Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
