From Lower to Upper Egypt, Terre des hommes (Tdh) provides support to the most vulnerable children and youth, including refugees and migrants, children in contact and conflict with the law, and their caregivers in order to help them to cope with dire straits, to enhance their resilience and to keep hope in the future. All projects are implemented with recognised local stakeholders to ensure sustainability of impact towards enhancing protective environment of the children and youth.
Tdh provides a variety of services and activities in Greater Cairo and across nine governorates in Egypt, with innovative approaches and sustainable solutions to enhance the resilience and wellbeing of the children and youth and help them to build a better future.

Services Offered

Tdh strengthens the protection and the psychosocial well-being of refugee and migrant children, youth and their families, as well as vulnerable host communities, through the provision of services related to community-based child protection. We provide mental health and psychosocial support, community awareness sessions on positive parenting, as well as prevention and response to violence at schools for children, young people and their families. Through community mobilisation, capacity development for better communal self-governance, youth development activities focusing on sport and art, Tdh aims to support social cohesion and peaceful coexistence both within refugee communities and between them and host community members.
The interventions are including mental health and psychosocial support, case management, cash assistance, community mobilization, youth empowerment and capacity building to strengthen child protection systems and ensure a protective child-friendly environment. All Tdh Egypt projects are implemented under the supervision of the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity.
