The Effat Center for Guidance, Legal and Social Services was established in 2000, and is considered one of the most prominent projects adopted by the Jordanian Women's Solidarity Institute Association since that time until now. Where the center is based on providing assistance and support to women victims of domestic and community violence through intervention on the basis of advice and effective and rapid assistance on various axes; Social, economic, legal, health, psychological and judicial according to the available mechanisms, in coordination with the relevant authorities, whether official or civil, or civil society organizations working in similar fields.

It provides the following services: - Legal and social counseling services and legal advice. - Judicial representation before the competent regular and Sharia courts. - Telephone counseling and individual and group counseling. - Follow-up services for the transactions of official departments and civil institutions for women and children victims of violence or human rights violations. These services are provided by a team of female lawyers and social workers

Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
