Services Offered
Counseling - Chrysalis Health offers a wide variety of mental health counseling programs and services to meet your individualized needs. Choose one of the following to learn more about your options.
Individual Counseling - Individual mental health counseling is our most common treatment approach. Whatever issues or symptoms our clients are experiencing can be treated in a comfortable one-on-one environment. Our services are designed to help people experiencing challenges in their lives ranging from adjustments to life stressors, to difficulty in daily functioning, to more significant behavioral and/or emotional concerns.
Home & School Counseling - One the most unique services offered by Chrysalis Health is our on-site treatment. Most of our therapists and counselors are out in the field helping people improve their lives in their homes and schools. These settings provide those we serve with a more familiar environment that help put them at ease and improve their chances for success. Let Chrysalis come to you on your terms and together we'll make a difference in your life.
Family Counseling - Family counseling may include parents, siblings, children, relatives, or others relevant to the psychological health of one's family. Bringing health and wellness to a family is often as important, if not more, than working with just one person individually. Our symptoms and troubles are often alleviated more quickly and meaningfully when addressed in relation to those around us. At Chrysalis, we understand the nature and power of families. We strive to help them build on their strengths, improve and balance relationships, to help each person grow and attain health and improvement in their lives. The younger or older our client, the more family involvement is generally needed.
Group - Group counseling provides a safe, rich enviroment to learn and grow while participating with others that have similar and different backgrounds and experiences. The benefits of this approach are invaluable to growth: from learning new information to trying new behavior; improving communication; instilling hope; improving social skills and relationships; and knowing you are not alone. Our skilled clinicians help facilitate change and improvement to help you move forward in your life.
Marriage, Partnerships & Committed Relationships - Chrysalis Health offers relationship counseling services at our offices or in the comforts of home. The complex issues that can arise in a relationship, especially if there are children involved, can often cause great stress and put marriages, partnerships, and committed relationships at risk. Our therapists can help identify and define the issues, assist in developing a better understanding of the dynamics, and help improve communication, as well as, the skills needed to strengthen relationships. We are here to help couples improve their union and give them and their families hope for a happier, healthier tomorrow.
Psychiatric Services - Chrysalis Health provides a full spectrum of psychiatric services. Our licensed psychiatrists are trained physicians who diagnose and treat mental health conditions. A psychiatric evaluation helps deternmine the need for medication and makes specific treatment recommendations. Psychiatric treatment and medication management are available through our licensed psychiatrists, as well as, our highly qualified psychiatric nurse practioners. Mental Health & Substance Use - Young and old, mild to severe, there is no one face to mental health or substance use. The symptoms are as diverse as those they affect. At Chrysalis Health, our mental health and substance use programs serve children and adolescents through strengthed based counseling. Our approach is to develop meaningful and trusting relationships, provide encouragement, and help identify and develop strengths and capabilities. Our therapists are trained in trauma-informed treatment, motivational interviewing, and other evidenced based approaches. Many of those we serve are struggling with mental health and substance use issues simultaneously. Our clinicians are trained to conceptualize, assess, and treat both in an integrated manner when these conditions are co-occurring in a person.
Sexual Trauma & Risk Reduction Therapy - The STARRT program features outpatient and therapeutic group home treatment for children and adolescents with problematic sexual behavior. Outpatient services are provided on-site at schools, after-care programs and in their homes. The outpatient program serves male and female clients, ages 2 to 18, displaying a wide range of sexual behavior problems.
Systematic Approach For Exploited & Traumatized Youth - Sex trafficking or sexual exploitation is the control over a person, by the use of real or perceived threats of harm, if demands of sexual acts are not fulfilled. Victims of domestic sex trafficking generally come from vulnerable populations, including runaways, foster care children, homeless or displaced individuals, migrants, and economically disadvantaged. The SAFETY program at Chrysalis was designed to evaluate, treat, and provide safety to victims of domestic sex trafficking in our communities. The emotional, psychological, and physical effects of coercion and sexual exploitation are addressed through outpatient counseling and individualized support services.

Qualifying for assistance from Florida's program usually depends on the severity of your condition and financial circumstance. Read our full guide to Florida's program.
A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
