CFHE provides mental health care, and health management education. We served our community's healthcare needs with a human touch, never losing focus of whom we serve, our patients. The Center for Family Health & Education, Inc. (CFHE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), located in the northeast San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. CFHE provides affordable and comprehensive medical care for underserved, uninsured, and underinsured residents of the greater Panorama City area. CFHE has been providing primary health care, mental health care, dental care, and women's and children health care, as well as transportation services for patients since 2009.

MENTAL HEALTH CARE AT CENTER FOR FAMILY HEALTH & EDUCATION - If you believe you have mental health issues, CFHE doctors can help you identify the early warning signs that could be impacting your behavior and interactions with others. Our doctors and team of health care professionals can devise a plan to help address your mental health needs and bring emotional balance back to your life.

MENTAL HEALTH CARE - To help promote emotional health, CFHE provides mental health services including counseling, case management and education targeting adults, youth and children who have been traditionally undeserved. Services include parenting classes, marriage and family therapy, self-therapy and anger management, in addition to specialized services for patients with mental and behavioral health needs.
Fees and Payment
FQHCs also qualify for enhanced reimbursement from Medicare and Medicaid*, as well as other benefits, and may provide services on a sliding pay scale. We are also a nonprofit agency.

A community counseling agency is a group therapy practice that offers affordable mental health services. Most are independent non-profit agencies, state agencies, or publicly-funded agencies. A few may restrict who is eligible for services, so it is a good idea to check when you call.
Community counseling agencies are generally more affordable than other therapy providers, but how much more affordable they are will depend on whether you qualify for a discount or sliding scale fee (or if they accept your insurance). Many, but not all, have a policy that they won't turn away anyone due to inability to pay. You should ask about their fees when you first call.
Expect to talk to kind people who want to help you find the care you need. Most community agencies strive to connect you with a live person within 24 hours, if not immediately. If you're asked to hold or leave a message, don't give up; just leave a message and wait. You should hear back pretty quickly.
Most agencies try to set up an initial assessment appointment within a week (some do within 24 hours), though the waitlist to start therapy is usually longer—about a few weeks on average. If you're not eligible or if the agency is not right for you, it's usually still worth it to call or drop in, because staff are knowledgeable about local options and can often refer you to one.
